What options do I have for self-treatment?
Microdosing
Microdosing can be done alone without any problem. With higher doses, however, an experienced trip sitter should definitely be present! You will find more information on this in the Guide for companions.
Microdosing is the gentle path to inner peace. The root bark does not lead to visions or anything similar. Microdosing stays in a range you cannot feel. You may dream more intensely than usual, but microdosing does not affect your daily routine. Still, you receive the full information of the plant. We work out which amount suits you in a personal conversation. Iboga in these small doses works very subtly. If you do not pay attention, you might think nothing is happening at all. But if you work on something actively and consciously, it can ease various processes:
- loss and grief
- freedom from addiction to substances (sugar, nicotine, alcohol, opiates and many more)
- freedom from other, non-substance addictions (food, internet, work, relationships, pornography and many more)
- changing bad behaviour patterns
- breaking away from toxic relationships
- healing after co-dependent relationships
- tackling fears and phobias
The root bark also brings old issues to the surface. But perhaps differently than you expect. Iboga brings everything unprocessed into your awareness, but in a way that lets you think about it and then work on the issues and let them go.
A flood dose at home?
Iboga is a very powerful plant and should never be taken lightly or carelessly. Even with proper use, iboga may still need several treatments, especially for detox and withdrawal, before a completely substance-free life is possible.
You never do a flood dose alone. Whether at home or elsewhere: an experienced person must always be with you who knows what can happen during these hours and who stays with you for 12 to 36 hours. They take you to the toilet if needed, help you when you vomit and keep giving you water. Preparation is the most important thing, and your companion should definitely read the Guide for companions.
